Gum Healing Jelly

I’m testing a remedy to see if it will help with gum health, to help reduce inflamation, stop gum bleeding and help with tisuue regrowth. I have read some studies on Pub med and other platforms about it. A group were tested with using a Jelly with COQ10, Vitamin C, L-Lysine, Zinc. The Jelly was made with gelatine mixed with Hydrognated water. The participants took the jelly daily for 4 weeks, with no change to diet. The majority of the group resulted in reduced inflamation of the gums.

I decided I would like to make my own. I looked into hydrogen water and wanted to find out where to buy it. After a bit of looking into, some information suggested it would not be too helpful and that hydrogen is lost rapidly, exspecially being mixed into a jelly mixture.

Healthy gums rely on strong connective tissue, good circulation, and low inflammation. This jelly brings together nutrients that support collagen repair, reduce oxidative stress, and nourish the tissues that hold your teeth in place.

Here’s what each ingredient contributes.

CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10)

CoQ10 is one of the most researched natural compounds for gum health. It supports the energy production inside gum cells and helps reduce inflammation in periodontal tissue. Low CoQ10 levels are commonly found in people with gum disease, and supplementing it may help improve gum healing and reduce bleeding. In a jelly, it provides gentle, ongoing support as it dissolves slowly in the mouth.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is essential for collagen formation — and gum tissue is made almost entirely of collagen. Without enough vitamin C, gums become fragile, inflamed, and slow to heal. Adding vitamin C to the jelly helps support tissue repair, strengthen the gum lining, and reduce bleeding.

L‑Lysine

L‑lysine is an amino acid that works hand‑in‑hand with vitamin C to build collagen. It helps the body form strong, stable connective tissue. It’s often used for wound healing and skin repair, and in gum health it supports the rebuilding of the tissues that anchor teeth.

Glycine (optional)

Glycine is a naturally sweet amino acid found in collagen. It helps calm inflammation and supports the body’s natural repair processes. It also improves the flavour and texture of the jelly. Even if you skip it, your jelly will still work — it’s simply a helpful addition.

Zinc (taken separately, not mixed into the jelly)

Zinc plays a role in wound healing and immune support. It helps the gums respond better to bacterial challenges and supports tissue repair. Because zinc tastes metallic and doesn’t mix well into gelatin, it’s best taken separately as a chewable or capsule.

🍮 Gum‑Healing Jelly Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon bovine gelatin
  • ½ teaspoon vitamin C powder
  • ½ capsule CoQ10 (from a 300 mg Blackmores capsule)
  • ¼–½ teaspoon crushed L‑lysine tablet (or powder)
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon glycine
  • Optional: 1–2 drops peppermint, sage, or chamomile extract, (I used 2 drops of Peppermint Pure Essential Oil – from Scent from Nature)
  • Optional: 1 drop propolis tincture

Method

  1. Bloom the gelatin Sprinkle the gelatin over ¼ cup cold water and let it sit for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Warm the remaining water Heat ¾ cup water until warm but not boiling.
  3. Dissolve the gelatin Stir the bloomed gelatin into the warm water until fully melted.
  4. Cool slightly Allow the mixture to cool until warm (comfortable to touch). This protects the vitamin C.
  5. Add the active ingredients Stir in vitamin C, CoQ10, crushed L‑lysine, and any optional ingredients.
  6. Set the jelly Pour into a small tray or container and refrigerate for 2–3 hours.
  7. Use Let one cube or heaped teaspoon – dissolve slowly in the mouth once or twice daily.

This jelly is a supportive, food‑based way to nourish gum tissue. It doesn’t replace professional dental care, but it can help reduce inflammation, support healing, and strengthen the gums while you work toward a dental visit.
